Chain Crash Triggered by Fog in Fresno

Motorists should always be cautious when driving in foggy and slippery roads where accidents are prone to occur. Further, they should keep in mind that other drivers may not be as careful so they must observe preventive measures to avoid these road accidents.

In a recent vehicle accident, a big rig that was about to cross the intersection was hit by another vehicle and the collision started the chain crash that involved at least four vehicles. Fog in the area is believed to be a factor in the crash.

According to reports, the westbound big rig travelling along Manning Avenue was moving into an intersection when it was hit by a motorist in a northbound van driving along McMullen Grade.

After the initial crash, a northbound vehicle along McMullen hit the big rig after it swerved as a fourth vehicle from the southbound lane added to the pileup a few moments later.

At least one person was taken to the hospital to be treated for the moderate injuries he sustained in the crash and there were no fatalities reported.

This accident could have been a lot worse especially if the vehicles involved were speeding.

To avoid road accidents caused by weather and climate change, drivers must:

• Install tire chains when driving along icy roads
• Check the traffic lights and approaching traffic before going into intersections
• Maintain a safe speed that is not below or above the speed limit
• Keep your eyes on the road
• Never drink and drive
• Avoid tailgating

These reminders should help in preventing road accidents that result in injuries and property damages. Be wise and always follow traffic laws and regulations.
