As we all know, riding a motorcycle always requires safe driving. Accidents seem like always come naturally when you’re riding this two-wheel vehicle, even to professional motorcycle riders and racers.

Earlier this month, the entire motocross industry has mourned the death of one of its great assets, Tommy Aquino.

Aquino died from a motorcycle crash during a motocross race at Piru Ranch Mix in Piru, California.

As of this writing, further details surrounding his death are not yet clear but previous reports claimed that it was a head-on collision.

Aquino was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene while the other motorist was transported to a hospital via airlift.

“Today, our sport had a tragic event where we lost one of our riders. Prayers go out [to] their families and friends. Out of respect we will not be open for practice this Wednesday, Feb 5th, thank you all for your understanding and God Bless,” said in a post of the track’s official Facebook page following the incident.

During his AMA road racer career, he competed with the factory U.S. Yamaha squad for much of his time. He also competed in British National Superstock series with Kawasaki.

Aside from the Piru Ranch Mix, the AMA Pro Racing, Helmet House and Yamaha U.S. likewise sent their deepest condolence to the family and friends of Aquino.

Meanwhile, our Los Angeles motorcycle lawyer also sends his sympathy to the American motorcycle racer. “The biggest race of his life is over and now he claims his trophy of never-ending happiness in God’s hand,” he said.
