Drunken Young Driver Crashes into Pole, Injures two Passengers

Young drivers are more likely to be involved in vehicle accidents than older drivers, considering that they are less experienced and they are not yet completely aware of the dangers they might face while on the roads. In addition, many young drivers are influenced by their peers, causing them to do actions that are prohibited by the law, most specifically drunk driving.

In fact, a 20-year-old drunken driver was recently arrested after she crashed into a light pole in Fullerton, causing her two passengers to sustain serious injuries.

According to reports, the accident occurred near Brea Boulevard and Harbor Boulevard at around 2 a.m.

The 20-year-old passenger was brought to a hospital under a serious condition while the 21-year-old passenger, from Anaheim, was rushed to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where she was listed under a critical condition.

The suspected drunken driver Andrea Palacios, from Fullerton, was transported to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries. She was arrested by the authorities on suspicion of felony DUI after being released from the hospital.

According to authorities, the three of them drank prior to the accident, but refused to name the establishments which they likely visited.

If the driver was found guilty of felony DUI, different punishments that she might face include license suspension, paying of fines, jail time, and mandatory DUI classes.

Drunk driving is one of primary reasons why vehicle accidents occur. Aside from that, the other common causes of road crashes include distracted driving, speeding, and driver fatigue, among others.
